How Far in Advance Do We Book?

Schultz Floral books anywhere from 3-18 months in advance for events and weddings.

If you’ve started wedding planning, you already know there’s a timeline for everything — venues, photographers, dresses, and yes… florists. One of the most common questions we get is:“When should we book our wedding flowers?”

Here’s our honest answer — and why it matters more than you might think.

The Short Answer

Most couples book their florist 9–12 months before the wedding. For peak wedding months (May through October), earlier is even better.

We design a limited number of weddings each season to give each couple our full focus. Once our calendar fills, it’s full — even if your wedding is a simple one. Booking early secures your spot on our design calendar with our owner and best design team. Plus, it allows us to source the best possible blooms for your vision.

Why Early Booking Matters

  • Flower sourcing: Premium flowers are grown and ordered months ahead. Early planning ensures we can request the right colors, varieties, and quantities.

  • Design collaboration: Your floral plan sets the tone for many aesthetic choices — bridesmaid dresses, linens, even stationery.

  • Vendor coordination: We work closely with your venue, planner, and photographer to make everything cohesive — timing matters!

But What If I Don’t Have All the Details Yet?

That’s okay! Booking early doesn’t mean finalizing every stem. It just reserves your date and level of service. We’ll refine your proposal as your plans evolve. What matters is holding your spot — especially for high-demand weekends with delivery and installation preferences.

Our Best Advice

If you’ve booked your venue and chosen your date, it’s time to secure your florist. Flowers bring your vision to life — and having your designer onboard early means less stress and more creative freedom later.
